DHU College of Fashion and Design Unveils New Visual Identity and Fashion Space, Hosts “Friendship Day” Series

On December 6, the College of Fashion and Design, DHU held its “Friendship Day” series of events, simultaneously launching the college’s brand-new visual identity and fashion space. Centered around the three thematic chapters of “Friendship, Co-creation, and Future”, the events not only reflected the college’s cultural heritage and historical cooperation but also served as a new declaration of its ambition to lead global fashion forces in the years to come.

 Redefining Vision through Image Upgrade, Charting the Future through Strategic Planning

Vice President Liu Shuhui, on behalf of DHU, extended a warm welcome and expressed gratitude to the alumni and friends from all sectors of society for their longstanding care and support for the university’s development. She stated that the college should seize the opportunity presented by the launch of its new visual identity and fashion space to further strengthen interdisciplinary integration, explore cutting-edge design concepts, focus on cultivating leading innovative design talents, and build a fashion education brand with “Donghua characteristics”, thus injecting new vitality into the global fashion and creative industries.

Professor Sun Jie, Dean of the College of Fashion and Design, unveiled the college’s new visual identity. The updated image, modern and international, reflects the college’s future-oriented educational positioning and showcases its distinctive strengths and confidence in design, art, and cross-disciplinary integration and development.

 Validating Educational Outcomes through Talent Development, Co-creating a Brighter Future through Collaborative Strength

The college’s “Friends Reunion” alumni homecoming event was held on the same day. Seven outstanding alumni shared personal opinions based on their professional and entrepreneurial experiences, covering topics such as “Sustainability and Fashion Lifestyle”, “The Symbiosis of Aesthetics and Commerce”, “Global Narratives of Art and Branding”, and “IP Incubation”. Ten distinguished industry representatives were appointed as off-campus mentors for the college’s postgraduate students, joining forces with outstanding alumni and enterprises to cultivate the high-level innovative design talents urgently needed in our times.


The college officially launched the “Super Fashion-Development Fund”. Representatives from the first batch of supporting enterprises and alumni received donation certificates. The fund aims to build a sustainable support system for talent development, financing students’ international exchanges, research exploration, competitions, and innovation projects, thereby providing stable and sustaining support for cultivating exceptional innovative talents.

During the “Super Fashion Flash Talk” session, five guests from fields including curation, material aesthetics, interior design, fashion culture, and artificial intelligence shared their perspectives on industry trends and future development. They focused respectively on global design trends, the logic of material innovation, spatial design concepts, fashion culture expression, and the development of designer creativity in the AI era.

Igniting Educational Momentum through Creative Convergence, Leading Fashion Paradigms through Cross-disciplinary Expression

The evening of that day featured the grand finale of “Friendship Day” – a dazzling fashion show by new designers. From innovative material design and sustainable fashion concepts, to expressions of youth culture, and finally to technology-empowered design, the show brilliantly presented the design practice works. Through three chapters of “Dream Weavers”, “Youth Wave”, and “Wings of Tomorrow”, it collectively showcased the college’s distinctive “Design-Driven Innovation” education philosophy and the vibrant outcomes of its talent cultivation.

Moving forward, the College of Fashion and Design will continue to uphold its values of “Aspiring High, Pioneering and Leading”. It remains committed to advancing the construction of a “Donghua Paradigm” that meets the needs of the times and possesses international influence. The college aims to play a more active role in global fashion design education through excellent talent cultivation, cutting-edge academic exploration, and high-quality contributions to society.
