Date:2025-12-10

Recently, the Creative Design Exhibition on Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Culture, presented by the Shanghai International College of Fashion and Innovation at DHU, opened at the Ming Contemporary Art Museum. Centered on TCM culture, the exhibition builds a bridge between traditional wisdom and contemporary design through the creative reinterpretation of young designers.

The exhibition represents a vivid practice of the DHU's efforts to integrate teaching innovation with cultural heritage preservation. Going forward, the university will more systematically incorporate China's fine traditional culture into talent cultivation, allowing it to serve as an important source of creative inspiration, cultural confidence, and physical and mental well-being.

Based on design course instruction, the exhibited works fully draw on the profound philosophical concepts embedded in TCM, creating a cross-disciplinary and cross-cultural platform. Guided by a deep understanding of art therapy and Eastern philosophy, students approached everyday life scenarios from diverse perspectives to explore the contemporary relevance of traditional philosophy. As a cultural treasure of China, TCM has played a vital role in national development, health preservation, and responses to public health challenges. With innovative concepts and unique perspectives, the exhibited works encourage more young people to understand and appreciate TCM, injecting lasting vitality into its cultural transmission.

Organized around the philosophy of the Five Elements, the exhibition features five thematic sections. A total of 28 groups of works draw inspiration from elements such as the colors associated with the Five Elements and botanical symbolism, creating immersive sensory spaces that invite viewing, touching, and interaction.
