Interpretation of Application Status in the student portal of DHU Online Application System:
Ø Not Submitted: Application is incomplete or not submitted.
Ø Submitted: Application has been received by the university.
Ø To be Reviewed: Application has entered the processing procedure.
--➽ Applicants need to check their account regularly. If the status shows Returned, it must be handled promptly.
Ø Returned: Application was returned to the applicant during processing.
--➽ Applicants need to check the Remarks section, update or supplement information or materials in accordance with the listed requirements within the specified time limit. Only after completing this step and clicking the Submit button can the school receive the updated application; Or, complete the online application fee payment on time. If the status remains Returned without timely action from the applicant, the application will become invalid automatically.
Ø Under Review: Application has formally entered the university's review and evaluation process.
--➽ Applicants wait for the result. Check email frequently to avoid missing notifications from the university, such as Pre-admission Letter issuance, notifications about exam/interview or admission results, etc.
Ø Admitted: Formally admitted by Donghua University.
Ø Rejected: Rejected by Donghua University.

Ø For applicants intending to apply to study at DHU with an entrance scholarships: Register, log in, complete the online application (must select CGS-Category Type B or SGS under Source of Funding), and complete the online payment of the application fee (800 RMB). Application with the entrance scholarships: Apply directly to Donghua University, then will have the chance to participate in the scholarship evaluation if passed the university’s review & evaluation, e.g., Chinese Government Scholarship (CGS)-Category Type B, Shanghai Government Scholarship (SGS).

Ø Register, log in, complete the online application (must select CGS-Category Type A under Source of Funding), and complete the online payment of the application fee (800 RMB). Refer to the respective Application Guide for Undergraduate/Master's/PhD for details.
Ø Wait for university’s review & evaluation: 3-4 weeks (longer processing time required during winter break)
Ø Results will be notified via email: Those who pass the university’s review & evaluation will receive an electronic Pre-admission Notice; those who do not pass will not receive it.

Phase 1 Application with the entrance scholarships closes. Having successfully submitted your application (with application status marked as Submitted) through DHU online application system before this due time will increase your chances of being considered for the Chinese Government Scholarship (CGS)-Category B High-Level Graduate Scholarship Program.

Around March 20
Ø Postgraduate applicants intending to apply with the entrance scholarship: if pass the university’s review & evaluation, will successively receive the Pre-admission Letter sent from the official email:
*For those apply in the CGS scholarship online application portal for Chinese Government Scholarship (CGS)-Type B, it is strongly suggested to optimize the application materials and upload the DHU's Pre-admission Letter there, then submit and immediately inform DHU via email to qualify for the “High-Level Graduate Scholarship Program” evaluation process (results will be released in 1-2 months).
Ø Applicants who do not pass the university’s review & evaluation will be notified of the rejection result via the official email.
Ø Applicants who have not received any email notification should continue waiting for the evaluations of the university and other entrance scholarships.
April 2026:

Phase 2 Application with the entrance scholarships closes. All the scholarship application channel for all categories (Undergraduate, Master's, PhD) on DHU Online Application System closes: April 15, 18:00.
May 2026:

The self-funded study application channel for all categories (Undergraduate, Master's, PhD) on DHU Online Application System closes: May 31, 18:00.
【Results Release】 Result Release First round of admission results (including scholarship results) will be notified via official email.

Art exams or interviews (for application of art design related programs)

University Summer Vacation
July: Formal admission documents (Admission Notice, JW Form) will be issued via official email. self-funded students and some partial scholarship students apply for on-campus accommodation online.
Late August - Early September 2026:
Late August: New Student Registration Guide will be sent via official email.
Registration for New Degree Students: Specific dates and requirements are detailed in the Admission Notice and “New Student Registration Guide”.
