Delegation of African Young Diplomats and Deans of Diplomatic Academies Visits DHU

On April 18, a delegation of African young diplomats and deans of diplomatic academies visited DHU. Zhao Mingwei, Director of the International Office, extended a warm welcome to the delegation. She reviewed DHU’s fruitful achievements in Africa-related cooperation in recent years and shared plans for the future, expressing the hope of building more pragmatic partnerships with African universities. Professor Yan Chengzhong from the School of Business & Management delivered a lecture titled Understanding China, in which he drew on his visits to six African countries to share accessible insights into the practice of Chinese modernization.

More than 20 African and Chinese students, dressed in traditional attire, staged a lively cultural fashion show. African young diplomats were also invited to try on Hanfu, presenting the charm of China–Africa cultural diversity.

During the visit, the delegation toured an exhibition of finalist works from the “Solidarity & Prosperity” China–Kenya Youth Joint Cultural and Creative Competition. The innovative designs of young talents from both countries reflected the distinctive spirit of cultural integration.


As the concluding stop of the delegation’s visit to China,DHU showcased the unique value of Chinese universities in people-to-people exchange, technological empowerment, and talent cultivationby showcasig the outcomes of the “Solidarity & Prosperity” Competition, cultural interactions with African students, and Africa-focused cooperation projects.Looking ahead, DHU will continue to leverage its disciplinary strengths to deepen collaborative innovation with African universities in fields such as green textiles and digital education, enhance capacity building for African youth, and contribute sustainable “Donghua strength” to advancing a closer China–Africa partnership.
