On April 8, a delegation led by Peter Monteath, Vice President of Flinders University, visited the Yan’an Road Campus of our university. Vice President Chen Ge met with the guests, and representatives from the Shanghai International College of Fashion and Innovation and International Cooperation Office also attended the meeting.
Chen Ge extended a warm welcome to Peter Monteath and the delegation. He emphasized that the university consistently aligns with national and regional needsfor the development, leveraging its strengths in disciplines such as textiles, materials, and fashion design to provide intellectual support for Shanghai’s development as a City of Design, Fashion, and Brands, thereby helping the prosperity and flourish of itssustainable fashion industry.
Peter Monteath spoke highly of DHU’s outstanding practices in the field of sustainable fashion. He noted that Flinders University always prioritizes the education and development in sustainable fashion and looks forward to further deepening multi-disciplinary and multi-level cooperation between the two universities to jointly drive innovation and development in this field.
During the meeting, Yang Shengyuan, Deputy Director of the International Cooperation Office, provided an overview of DHU’s progress in international cooperation. Li Jun, Dean of the Shanghai International College of Fashion and Innovation, shared some practical cases of the college’s initiatives in sustainable fashion design and local cultural innovation. The two sides held friendly discussions on faculty and student exchanges, innovative practices, and the development of international workshops, reaching preliminary cooperation intentions.
Following the meeting, the delegation from Flinders University had a tour in the Shanghai International College of Fashion and Innovation.
