On January 9, at the event marking the 68th anniversary of China Eastern Airlines and the release of its brand development achievements, DHU, in collaboration with Eastern Airlines, unveiled a breathtaking series of ice-and-snowthemed apparel for the upcoming Harbin Asian Winter Games. The fashion show, blending winter motifs with creative design, captivated the audience and showcased the charm of this collaboration.

The collection projected a range of stunning designs created by DHU faculty and students, including the “Fantasy Icy Blue” ceremonial outfits for medal presentations at the 9th Asian Winter Games, sponsored by Eastern Airlines. It also featured official uniforms and ceremonial cold-weather clothing collaboratively designed by DHU and Eastern Airlines. Twelve exquisite designs made their debut through a combination of static exhibitions and runway shows. DHU students majoring in Fashion Show infused the garments with energy and grace on the runway, leaving the audience in awe and earning waves of enthusiastic applause.

The ice-and-snow themed fashion show presented a harmonious fusion of traditional Chinese elegance, Harbin’s icy landscapes, and the aspirations of Asian sports. The outfits turned wearers into cultural ambassadors, bringing together ancient traditions and modern creativity as well as Eastern and Western aesthetics. These designs expressed cultural heritage through tangible forms, blending timeless craftsmanship with innovative modern techniques.
Focusing on the theme of “Dream of Winter, Love among Asia,” the DHU design team created garments that incorporated traditional Chinese elements such as Mamianqun (horse-face skirts), Xiapei (traditional embroidered vest), Chinese slanting front, and coiled buttons. These garments were paired with well-designed patterns of lilacs, snowflakes, and athletic motifs and powerfully conveyed the intangible spirit behind them. The collection bridged the gap between the exquisite artistry of ancient Chinese craftsmanship and breakthroughs driven by modern technology, seamlessly narrating the story of China’s rich cultural heritage while envisioning a fashionable future.
While preserving the essence of traditional Chinese aesthetics, the collaboration of DHU and Eastern Airlines integrated cutting-edge technologies to deliver exceptional quality. From wool suits offering both warmth and air permeability to high-performance outerwear designed to be windproof, waterproof, and down-proof, the designs,each detail of the designs reflected both the modern innovation and humanity, highlighting the perfect union of heritage and progress.
