On March 28, the 2024 Guangfulin-CALM International Plastic Technology Forum on Plastic Circularity (the 2nd Guangfulin Forum) was held in Guangfulin Street, Songjiang District, Shanghai. The forum was curated and hosted by the Center for Advanced Low-Dimension Materials of Donghua University, and attended by more than 140 representatives from relevant higher education institutions, research institutions, technology companies, and industry associations.

This forum, themed “Enhancing Quality, Creating Value”, consisted of sessions on “Mechanical Recycling”,“Chemical Recycling”, and a roundtable forum. Experts and scholars from universities, enterprises, and research institutes engaged in in-depth thematic exchanges, with enthusiastic interaction from the audience. Attendees expressed that the forum, focusing on plastic recycling technology, a globalenvironmental issue, facilitated discussions on cutting-edge technologies and development trends, offering innovative ideas and solutions. The forumis deemed to be conductive to advancing plastic recycling technology, enhancing sustainability, and promoting environmental awareness in the industry.
It’s worth noting that the “Guangfulin Forum” was initiated and organized by the “Polymer Material Carbon Neutrality” platform led by Senior Researcher Li Bin from Donghua University’s Center for Advanced Low-Dimension Materials. This platform has been concentrating on researching and applying key low-carbon technologies for polymer materials throughout the entire production, processing, usage, and waste recycling processes since its inception in 2022. It provides active technical support and innovative solutions to industry enterprises, contributing to DHU’s efforts towards achieving carbon neutrality goals.
