DHU Specially Appointed Researcher Yan Wei Named to MIT Technology Review’s Innovators Under 35 China List

The MIT Technology Review’s Innovators Under 35(TR35) China list for 2022 was unveiled at the Global Young Science & Technology Leaders Summit on March 30. Yan Wei, aspecially appointed researcherat the DHU College of Materials Science and Engineering and State Key Laboratory for Modification of Chemical Fibers and Polymer Materials, was shortlisted.


Yan Wei has long been engaged ininterdisciplinary research on smart materials, fiber electronics, optoelectronics, wearable electronics, and intelligent fabrics, and has developed cutting-edge technologies such as fiber multi-modal sensing and imaging, fiber brain-computer interface, and smart acoustic clothing, providing unique solutions for health monitoring, personalized medicine, neurological disease cause analysis, and space safety monitoring. He has published more than 30 papers in Nature, Nature Nanotechnology, and National Science Review as the first author or corresponding author. He has also obtained fourinternational patents through the PCT process. In addition, Yan has received multiple prestigioushonors, including the IAAM Scientist Medal, the 2022 iCANX Young Scientist Award (only conferred on 10 people worldwide), and ETH ZurichOutstanding Doctoral Theses.


Launched in 1999, TR 35, released by the internationally renowned journal MIT Technology Review, aims to select and recognize leading talents under 35 worldwide,who contribute to emerging technologies and innovative applications. Since 2017, a list specifically targeting China has been produced. The 35 young Chinese talents selected for 2022 come from fields such as computing, biological and life sciences, chemistry, physics, materials, semiconductors, and quantum computing.
