Donghua University has been listed in the second group of "double first-class" construction universities, and the disciplines Material Science & Engineering and Textile Science and Engineering have been selected into the list of "double first-class" construction disciplines; Among them, the discipline Material Science & Engineering has been selected for the first time, marking a major breakthrough in the long-term construction and development of the University.
Since the launch of the first round of "double first-class" construction in 2016, Donghua University has adhered to the correct direction of running a school, taken strengthening moral education and cultivating people as the main task, comprehensively and orderly promoted various tasks of "double first-class" construction in the light of the first-class discipline construction plan which centers on the cyclical construction goal, thus achieving remarkable results in all aspects such as discipline construction, talent training, teaching staff, scientific research and social services, cultural inheritance and innovation, international exchanges and cooperation. In the second round of construction, the University bases itself on the new development stage, and highlights the guidance of cultivating first-class talents and striving to become a world-class university through "double first-class” construction.
