Recently, the Announcement No.14 of 2021 issued by the State Administration for Market Regulation (Standardization Administration of China) released that the two national standards formulated by DHU, GB/T 40913-2021 “Method for the determination of the hot-end coating thickness of glass bottle” and GB/T 40915-2021 “Determination of SiO2,Al2O3,Fe2O3,K2O,Na2O,CaO,MgO content of soda-lime-silica glass by X-ray fluorescence spectrometric method”were officially approved and published. And the two national standards will be officially implemented on June 1, 2022.
The release and implementation of GB/T 40913-2021 “Method for the determination of the hot-end coating thickness of glass bottle” plays a key role in ensuring the safety of the contents of glass bottles and facilitating the promotion and improvement of lightweight bottle-making technology. It is also conducive to energy conservation and to cut down the consumption of raw materials so as to promote the sustainable development of lightweight. GB/T 40915-2021 “Determination of SiO2,Al2O3,Fe2O3,K2O,Na2O,CaO,MgO content of soda-lime-silica glass by X-ray fluorescence spectrometric method” will replace traditional chemical analysis methods in the determination of glass compositions. Its precision and accuracy can not only meet production requirements, but also cut costs for enterprises.
As the secretariat undertaking unit of National Technical Committee on the Standardization of Domestic Glass (SAC/TC377), DHU is the counterpart of International Organization for Standardization (ISO/TC63). SAC/TC377 has nearly 60 national standards and industry standards. The establishment and release of this standard demonstrated the leading position of DHU in glass field. It is also of great significance to the optimization of glass production enterprises, the upgradation of manufacturing level, and the development of glass industry.
