Since the outbreak of COVID-19, there has been a desperate shortage of anti-epidemic materials, such as masks and protective clothing. How to make use of the technological advantages of the industrial Internet, accurately know the production capacity of anti-epidemic materials in a transparent way, and effectively solve the problems of “lack of materials, lack of equipment, lack of experts, and low production capacity” in anti-epidemic materials support, are especially important.
Professor Zhang Jie, dean of the College of Mechnical Engineering of DHU and Bao Jinsong, director of the Institute of Intelligent Manufacturing, led teachers of the Institute of Intelligent Manufacturing to build the “Industrial Internet Application Service Platform for Medical Anti-epidemic Textiles” (hereinafter referred to as the “Platform”), with the support of President Yu Jianyong, under the help of Li Guimei, vice president of the China Nonwovens&Industrial Textiles Association, and Zhang Fuyuan, a teacher of the Information Research Institute of DHU, and in cooperation with industry organizations such as the China Nonwovens &Industrial Textiles Association, the China Textile Industry Internet Alliance, the China Textile Industry Federation Information Center, the China Textile Machinery Association, the Industrial Big Data Branch of China Association for Mechatronics Technology and Application, as well as well-known industrial Internet technology units such as CASICloud and Guoji Internet Research Institute Co., Ltd..
(Platform Interface)
The platform solves the prominent problems in terms of the production capacity and anti-epidemic materials supply in a “transparent, accurate, intuitive and efficient” way, ensuring the sufficient supply of anti-epidemic materials. By providing rapid docking services for production enterprises and reliable production capacity data for users, the production of anti-epidemic materials can be based on evidence, the gap of medical materials can be effectively covered, experts can guide production online, and overseas enterprises can provide global support, thereby effectively solving the problems of “lack of materials, equipment, and experts, and low production capacity” in the production process of anti-epidemic materials. As soon as the platform was launched, it successfully solved the problem of shortage of melt-blown fabrics for a company in Hunan Province which changed its production line for producing masks. And it assisted 8 companies to purchase the required materials on the first day of launch. As of now, the platform has been updated to the second version, with a total of 20,000 views, 62 posts of demand info, 532 posts of supply info, and 843 material production enterprises’ information has been displayed on the platform.
Since the launch of the platform, with the support of government departments, industry organizations and departments of DHU at all levels, the Institute of Intelligent Manufacturing has cooperated with the platform development team to continuously improve the functions of the platform and guide more enterprises to join the platform. Many teachers and students from the Institute, including Zheng Xiaohu and Wang Junliang overcame the difficulties and devoted themselves to the development of the platform, making concerted efforts to fight against the epidemic.
