On December 16, the annual award ceremony of Entrepreneurship, Creativity & Innovation Awards (ECI Awards) was held in Shanghai, during which DHU won multiple awards. Vice President Shu Huisheng attended the ceremony and presented prizes to the winners of the ECI Annual Chinese Innovation Influencer Award. Li Jun, dean of the Fashion & Art Design School, accepted the award on behalf of the School.
The Fashion & Art Design School won the ECI Fashion Design Education Innovation Award collectively; the fashion design teaching team for cultivating students with international vision of DHU led by Associate Professor Zhou Honglei and the artificial intelligence-assisted design teaching team led by Associate Professor Wu Liang won the ECI Fashion Design Education Innovation Award; Zhi Chen, an outstanding graduate of DHU, won the ECI Annual Innovative Young Talent Award.

ECI Awards, founded by the IECIA/International Digital Innovation Association in the United States in 2014, is the first global award in the digital economy that uses “effectiveness of innovation” as the evaluation criteria. The 2020 ECI Awards redefines innovation with the theme of “FUTURE IS NOW”. This year’s mission is to find innovative education, innovative events and innovative talents in colleges and universities, and to seek cooperation with colleges and universities. This time DHU selected 10 award-winning works of the “World Wearable Art Competition” to be displayed at the ECI awards ceremony and teachers Liu Jianfang and Cui Mingyang from acting department served as performance directors for this fashion show. The creative fashion design and innovative talent training results were widely admired by the on-site guests.

Moreover, the Fashion & Art Design School will serve as one of the initiators of the ECI Education Innovation Committee, co-hosting the Strategic Development Annual Conference and Innovation Case Appreciation Conference of the ECI Awards. This joint hosting not only embodies the concept of innovation education, innovative events and innovative talents from the integration of education with industry, but also provides a broader vision for the future development of DHU.
