Qin Xiaohong, professor, Ph.D. advisor, associate dean of Textile School of DHU, has long been engaged in the research on the theory and technology industrialization of induced forming of multi-dimensional micro-nano fiber assembly media, and made a series of achievements in the narrow distribution of micro-nano fiber assembly and the formation of textile structures. She created a spatially symmetrical high-curvature liquid surface electrospinning fiber control theory system, innovated the sheet-like precision structure electrospun nonwoven material macro preparation technology, created a bundled high-orientation electrospun fiber micro-tension spinning system, and solved the technical problems for the industrialization of narrow distributed micro-nano fiber.

She has been in charge of over 40 major projects, including the sub-subjects of the science and technology support plan as well as the national key research and development programs during the 11th Five-Year Plan and the 12th Five-Year Plan, six programs supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and the key program of the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission Innovation Plan. She has been the author of over 100 academic papers and 3 monographs, and held 49 authorized invention patents. She has won the first science and technology prize by the China National Textile and Apparel Counsel in 2019 and 2014 as the first and second contributor respectively, the Contribution Award for the Transformation of Textile Science and Technological Achievements, and the Patent Award of China Textile Industry.

In 2008, her paper was selected as the National Excellent Doctoral Dissertation. She has been selected as the member of many talents schemes, such as the Education Ministry’s New Century Excellent Talents Supporting Plan, Education Ministry’s Fok Ying Tung Foundation, Shanghai Shuguang Scholar, and the project supported by Shanghai Science and Technology Development Funds. She has won the China Textile Youth Science and Technology Award in 2016, the title of Shanghai Excellent Technology Leader in 2017 and the China Textile Academic Leader in 2018, the title of the National March 8th Red-Banner Pacesetters for two consecutive years, and the Rising Star Award of Shanghai Women Innovation Award in 2016.

(Professor Qin Xiaohong)

The China Youth Science and Technology Award was established in 1987 at the suggestion of the older generation of Chinese scientists such as Qian Xuesen and Zhu Guangya. Its selection is conducted by the Central Organization Department, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, the China Association for Science and Technology, and the Central Committee of the Communist youth League, aiming to cultivate world-class strategic science and technology talents and leading science and technology talents. The award selection is conducted once every two years, and the number of winners does not exceed 100 every time, which has played an important role in promoting the emergence of young talents.
