The seminar will focus on cutting-edge trends such as the development of modern textile technology, the upgrading of textile and garment industry and the practice of sustainable development of China's textile industry through the exchange of thematic reports, field visits and investigations, etc. The teaching staff is composed of professors and scholars from Donghua University and senior experts and tutors from industry associations. The textile and garment industry is the key and pillar industry of Lancang-Mekong countries. We look forward to deepening our understanding of China's development through the study and discussion on this advanced seminar. We thank China for providing such a platform for us to further join hands and discuss on how to strengthen the textile and garment industry.
It is understood that since the publication of the Sanya Declaration of the First Lancang-Mekong Cooperation (LMC) Leaders' Meeting— For a Community of Shared Future of Peace and Prosperity among Lancang-Mekong Countries in 2016, China and lancang-mekong countries have conducted extensive cooperation in policy communication, production capacity cooperation and other areas to promote common development and achieved fruitful results. Lancang-mekong cooperation (lancang-mekong cooperation) has become one of the most dynamic and promising cooperation mechanisms in the Mekong sub-region and an important platform for extensive consultation and joint development.
In recent years, the university gives full play to the advantages of textile, clothing, materials and other characteristic subjects, aiming at the national development strategy, in cooperation with industry associations, Orient International, Jiangsu Sunshine Group and other corporations to promote the Belt and Road international production capacity cooperation in the textile industry. China's textile industry has actively responded to the requirements of the development of cooperation mechanism and taken the lead in organizing and carrying out international production capacity cooperation in the field of textile and clothing. The seminar is also an innovative measure taken by university and industry associations to promote the establishment of a lancang-mekong textile and apparel industry cooperation and dialogue mechanism and enhance the status of lancang-mekong countries in the global textile industry and value chain.
The seminar was hosted by the Textile Industry Branch of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade and undertaken by Donghua University. Nearly 30 government officials, association leaders, industrial parks and representatives of large textile and garment enterprises and research institutions from Cambodia, Vietnam, Myanmar, Thailand and Laos came to China for a nine-day visit and exchange.
