On May 13, President Jiang Changjun of Donghua University (DHU) met with the President of Namangan Engineering-Technological Institute, Uzbekistan at the Songjiang Campus of DHU. Relevant personnel from the College of Textiles, the College of Mechanical Engineering, the International Cooperation Office and the International Cultural Exchange School also attended the meeting.
President Jiang first expressed warm welcome to the delegation. The two sides then introduced respective history, development status and future planning, indicating that the two universities have many things in common and can carry out in-depth cooperation in the forms of student exchanges, teacher exchanges and scholarships for international students. Our side welcomed Namangan Engineering-Technological Institute to join the Belt & Road World Textile University Alliance (WTUA), and expressed the hope that the WTUA can be a platform for the two sides to deepen academic cooperation around the Belt and Road initiative, thus advancing the work of WTUA.

Besides, companied by Tang Zhi and Qin Xiaohong, Deputy Dean of College of Mechanical Engineering and Deputy Dean of College of Textiles respectively, the delegation visited the labs of the two colleges, and conducted in-depth exchanges with teachers and students, highly acclaiming the research level of DHU as well as the research ability of teachers and students.
Established in 1992, the Namangan Engineering-Technological Institute is the first higher education institution in Uzbekistan. With great emphasis on international cooperation, the Institute has established cooperative relations with many universities in China.
