On May 10, the delegation of 6 people led by Rei jo Tolppi, Vice President of Lapland University of Applied Sciences, visited the Songjiang campus of Donghua University (DHU).
Shu Huisheng, Vice President of DHU, met with the guests cordially. He extended a warm welcome to the delegation and then introduced the development of DHU. He expressed the hope that the two sides will strengthen the exchanges and seek in-depth cooperation in the field of extreme environment in the context of China’s Double First-Class initiative. Officials from the International Cooperation Office and the School of Environmental Science and Engineering of DHU also attended the meeting.
After the meeting, the delegation of Lapland University of Applied Sciences had an in-depth exchange with the School of Environmental Science and Engineering. The delegation briefly introduced the situation of the Lapland University of Applied Sciences and focused on the polar research projects and the municipal environment, civil engineering, mining and mineral processing, and also expressed the intention of deepening the cooperation in student exchange, talent training, and technologies. Finally, the two sides negotiated and confirmed the follow-up execution of the cooperation agreements and conducted in-depth discussions on student and teacher exchanges.
As the northernmost university of Applied Sciences in the European Union, Lapland University of Applied Sciences forms the Lapland University Consortium with Lapland University. The university is known for its expertise and prowess in the application research and development of Arctic conditions.
