Executive Vice President of the University of Tokyo Visits DHU

On May 8, Professor Haneda Masashi, Executive Vice President of the University of Tokyo, kicked off a one-week academic visit to Donghua University (DHU) on invitation after five months. Liu Chunhong, Vice President of DHU, met with and extended a warm welcome to Professor Haneda Masashi. Officials from the International Cooperation Office and the College of Foreign Language also attended the meeting.

Liu Chunhong introduced the initiatives and progress that have been made by DHU in international exchanges in recent years, as well as the ideas in response to the Belt and Road initiative. Haneda introduced the model and latest achievements of the University of Tokyo in the exchanges with scholars from European and American colleges and universities with respect to the global history. The two sides agreed that cooperation and exchanges between teachers and students in the two universities will be strengthened.



After the meeting, Haneda visited the Shanghai Museum of Textile and Costume and gave a report titled “Language for Narrating the World History,” which was warmly received by teachers and students of the Japanese major.
