On November 15, Vice President Liu Chunhong of Donghua University (DHU) met with Pro Vice-Chancellor Paul Ryan and Chinese representative Tan Mufei of Regent’s University London at Yan’an Road campus. Officials from the International Cooperation Office and Shanghai International College of Fashion and Innovation were also present.
Vice President Liu first extended a warm welcome to the guests, and then briefed the profile, students’ external exchange and cultivation of international students of DHU. Prof. Ryan, who also serves as the Dean of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences at the Regent’s University London, also stressed the importance of the internationalization construction, and expressed the hope to broaden communication and cooperation with DHU in respect of fashion design in addition to the existing student exchange program.
After the meeting, Prof. Paul Ryan and Ms. Tan Mufei visited the exchange students from Regent’s University London in the Fashion • Art Design Institute and Shanghai International College of Fashion and Innovation, where they highly praised the teaching philosophy, scientific achievements and advanced facilities of DHU in fashion design and expected multiple cooperation and exchanges including the participation in London fashion week and Greater Donghua Fashion Week.
As a private non-profit university located in London, Regent’s University London is one of the only six private institutions in the UK to have been granted doctoral degree awarding powers. It ranks 3rd among UK institutions in terms of interior design. 15 of its students and 17 DHU students have been involved in the student exchange program since the execution of Memorandum of Understanding and student exchange agreement in 2015.
