“Cooking Contest” & Selection Activity of “My Favorite Top Ten Canteen Dishes” Held in DHU

In the evening of December 26th, 2016 “Cooking Contest” &selection activity of “My Favorite Top Ten Canteen Dishes”, co-sponsored by Communist Youth League Committee of Donghua University (DHU), Student Union of Glorious Sun School of Business and Management, Student Union of Fashion • Art Design Institute and Logistics Group of DHU, were held at Yan’an Road campus. Vice President Chen Ge, together with relevant officials, attended the activities.


Shen Jianping, Party Branch Secretary and Deputy Manager of Logistics Group, introduced the activities. Huang Jianzhong, Head Chef of Food & Beverage Division of Yan’an Road campus, introduced the selection rules of this event. In a warm atmosphere, the scene was filled with attractive fragrance, and the 123 delicious dishes stimulated the taste buds of teachers and students as well as pursuit of cate.

In the “cooking contest,” judges awarded Red Case (Dish) Gold Award: sauteed shrimps with pickled cabbage, steamed ribs with bean paste, cantaloupe rice cakes with beef granules; Red Case (Dish) Silver Award: delicious squid ring, mutton shashlik, steamed pork belly with preserved greens; Red Case (Dish) Bronze Award: gold medal garlic tasty spare ribs, pearl ribs, die peperoli preserved duck butyl, braised pork; White Case (Dish) Gold Award: small square cream cake, Thai style mochi, handmade noodles with spicy crispy chicken; White Case (Snack) Silver Award: pumpkin bean cake, fried stuffed bun with sugar, Xinjiang baked roll; White Case (Snack) Bronze Award: celery bean vermicelli cake, spicy bacon noodle, coconut ball and rum ball.

In the early stage of the event, the Communist Youth League launched the online registration activities for public judges through the platform of “Voices of Youth.” The first 150 students and first 30 teachers that registered successfully constitute the judge team. Ultimately, cheese mashed potatoes, crispy fried milk, mutton shashlik, roast mutton chops, cumin potato chips, spicy crispy rabbit meat, sauteed shrimps with pickled cabbage, Xinjiang chicken fillet, corn pot soup and taro curd pork ribs were rated as Red Case “My Favorite Ten Canteen Dishes;”small square cream cake, Thai style mochi, crispy egg tarts, egg-yolk puff, rum balls, cotton cake with fresh milk, gold medal bitter gourd pear, red bean cake with coconut milk, characteristic lotus crisp and rosebun were rated as White Case “My Favorite Ten Canteen Dishes.”The innovative form featuring the combination of off-line activities and online publicity fully mobilizes the passion and enthusiasm of teachers and students to be involved in the activities.
