Netherlands Consulate General in Shanghai Donates Tulip Bulbs to Donghua

    Netherlands Consulate General in Shanghai and Donghua University (DHU) have had a long-standing and in-depth cooperation in several areas ranging from scientific research to teaching and cultural exchanges. Recently, the Consulate General donated DHU 600 bulbs of National Flower of Netherlands – Tulip.

  

 

    The donation ceremony was held at the greenbelt square in front of the Yifu Building at Yan’an Road campus on December 2. Mrs. Anna Desiree Adema, Consulate General of Netherlands in Shanghai and Liu Chunhong, Vice President of DHU, attended the ceremony. Officials from Development & Liaison Office and Shanghai International College of Fashion and Innovation were also present. The two sides planted the tulip bulbs as a symbol of friendship. Subsequently, they had a warm and friendly conversation. Liu Chunhong, on behalf of DHU, extended the gratitude to Mrs. Anna Desiree Adema and presented her a donation certificate as a souvenir. Mrs. Anna Desiree Adema expressed her hope that the seeds of friendship will grow into gorgeous flowers when the bulbs bloom next year. It is noteworthy that foresaid tulip bulbs are red and orange, implying that the two sides will deepen the cooperation and arouse the vitality in future, striving to lay a solid foundation for the development of educational cause.
