The 2016 Shanghai World Creative Economy Summit was held in Jiading District on October 29. Chen Ge, Vice President of Donghua University, attended the event and delivered a speech. Co-sponsored by Donghua University, Shanghai Creative Industry Association and Yangtze Delta River Creative Economy Cooperation Committee, the summit is themed “Creativity Interconnection, Innovation Sharing.”
The opening ceremony and main forum were presided over by Shen Lei, Secretary-General of Yangtze Delta River Creative Economy Cooperation Committee and Deputy Dean of Glorious Sun School of Business and Management. The International Section of Open Forum is themed “Creative Play: Perfect Integration between Tradition and Modernity” and the Technological Innovation Section themed “Mass Innovation, Creative Sharing.” Experts from University of Maryland, University of Antwerp, University of South Australia, University of Bologna and other institutions shared their views on cross-regional synergetic development of creative economy.
Chen Ge presented the efforts made by Donghua University in creative innovation and multidisciplinary crossover fusion and expounded the significant role played by creative economy in sharing smart ideas and enjoying smart life around the world, especially in China. He also hoped that one the basis of creativity, the platform mechanism featuring Government-Industry-University-Research-Application collaboration will be normalized and all parties will enhance cooperation to propel the implementation of China’s national strategies.
Thinking and idea is considered as a strategic resource in an era of creative economy. Chaired by Li Wuwei, Vice Chairman of the 11th CPPCC, President of Shanghai Creative Industry Association and Honorary Dean of Glorious Sun School of Business and Management, the Summit serves as a Government-Industry-University-Research-Application collaboration platform established by Economic Professional Committee of Shanghai Creative Industry Association. Responding to the state strategies of “Internet+” and Yangtze River Economic Zone, the Summit initiates profound urban and regional cooperation and communication based on creative economy, pushes the sharing of city governance experience and utilization of intellectual resources of experts and scholars in creative economy at home and abroad, aiming to make better city and better life under the impetus of creativity.
