表演艺术和法律在很多人的印象中是截然不相关的两个领域。但是这两个名词却在东华大学国际项目中心的美国教师David Warner先生的身上神奇的进行了体现。他出身美国纽约，虽然拥有美国夏威夷大学的法律博士学位。却从来没有放弃在表演艺术，特别是即兴表演，的探索，他认为艺术、生活和法律密不可分，因为“这个世界到处都是舞台，我们都是演员。”– 莎士比亚
Performance art and business law may seem to be opposites to most people, but Mr. David Warner, Amerianc teacher at the Center of International Programs of Donghua University, has a unique way of engaging in both areas. David was born in New York. He never gives up his passion for the performing arts, especially improvisation, even after he received his Doctor Degree in Law (Juris Doctor) from the University of Hawaii. He believes that art, life and law are inseparable, because “all the world's a stage and all the men and women, merely players. They have their exits and their entrances, and one man in his time plays many parts.” (Shakespeare)

On September 17th, David was invited to give a speech in Chinese at the 2016 Annual Meeting of TEDX Ningbo, an independently organized TED Event. His topic was “Being Prepared for the Unexpected – Improvisational Philosophy in China”.
David喜欢中国，本科专业就是汉语。在读法律期间研究的方向也是亚洲法律。在纽约当了5年的律师以后，他选择到中国来发展。在中国10年间他如鱼得水，成为了一名斜杠青年，以“王德伟”这个很中国的名字在，在很多领域都取得了不错的成绩。
David has studied China extensively. His undergraduate major was Chinese. He received a Certificate of Specialization in Asian Legal Studies during his doctor study of law. After working as an attorney in New York for 5 years, he moved to China. Over the past 10 years, he has actively been involved in different areas in China with a typical Chinese name “Wang, Dewei”

He is the Founder of the Universal Joy Improv Society, the first Chinese-language improvisation troupe in Shanghai.
★他曾在上海戏剧学院和中国知名剧团“开心麻花”教授即兴表演。
He was invited to teach improvisation at the Shanghai Theatre Academy and for Mahua FunAge, the well-known Stage Comedy troupe in China.
★他曾经获得过2014上海外语频道（ICS）双语主持人大赛《HOST OFF》冠军，并成为ICS签约主持人。
He was the champion of HOST OFF, China’s first bilingual hosting competition sponsored by the International Channel Shanghai (ICS), and later was invited to be a TV host at ICS.
★他也是一名民谣歌手和诗人，是“上海民谣联盟”成员，用中英文演出中演唱关于中国和他自己的故事，
He is also a folk song singer and poet. He has written songs about China and his stories in English and Chinese. He is also a member of “Shanghai Folk Rock United”
