On June 8, Lu Zheng and his partners, graduating students from the Department of Fashion and Art Design of Donghua University as well as the gold award winner of “Donghua New Designers” at the 2016 Greater Donghua Fashion Week, participated in the Graduate Fashion Week in London. According to Lu Zheng, his mohair designs, series of Crime Scene Investigation, explore the social issue of information security based on a fictitious concept of “criminal suspect.” In style design, the crime evidence is shown through the exposed zipper head, tag information, irregular buttons, lining of the clothes and so forth; in fabric, the original coil-knitted sweater was disassembled and re-tatted; the colors tend to be conservative manifested with the employment of low-key black, blue, white and russet-green. The Pure handmade fabric and creative design details were deeply favored by the experts and audiences. The organizer Adrien Yakimov-Roberts, Judge Prof. Jane Rapley and the Show Guide Deborah Britz indicated that Lu Zheng’s design creatively reflects social issues while fully conforming to the current fashion trend. “Our team exerts furthest our resource integration capability and teamwork spirit, and it is the different professional backgrounds from members that ignite the sparkle of creativity and inspiration,” said Lu Zheng. The team members expressed their gratitude to Donghua University for its emphasis on international exchange and cooperative education between colleges and enterprises, which not only present the students international vision but strengthen their practical ability. “Vision precedes award;” said Zhou Honglei, supervisor of creative group of “Donghua New Designers,” “costume merely serves as a carrier which bears the design philosophy of the designers; it is only when you regards costume as art that excellent works can be created.”
