Prof. Su Jianwen from University of California, Santa Barbara Employed As Adjunct Professor of DHU

    On April 25, the appointment ceremony for Prof. Su Jianwen to be an adjunct professor of Donghua University (DHU) was held at Songjiang campus. Vice President Qing Fengling addressed the ceremony. Sun Li, the Party Branch Secretary, Liu Guohua, the Dean and Lu Zhongping, the Personnel Director of School of Computer Science and Technology attended the ceremony, which was presided over by Li Wei, Director of Talents Work Office.

    Qing Fengling’s remarkshighlighted that the strategy of strengthening the university through talents development is the core strategy of DHU, which necessitates introduction and cultivation of first-class masters. Altogether five professors from University of California, Santa Barbara were awarded Nobel Prize from 1998 to 2004, setting a good model for DHU. Qing Fengling required the talents and personnel offices to provide sound service for Prof. Su’s work at DHU and hoped that the School of Computer Science and Technology will give full play to Prof. Su’s role in talent team construction, cultivation of young teachers as well as discipline construction.

    Prof. Su indicated that DHU is a very distinctive university and he will combine his own theoretical research with the practical engineering application of DHU’s computer science, endeavoring to make characteristic computer science of Donghua University.

    After the appointment ceremony Prof. Su delivered a report titled“Business Process” Model Research Progress and Hotspot. Based on the five basic characteristics of business process management, he systematically analyzed the development status and trend at home and abroad, and expounded the universality and key problems of software management by means of cases presentation concerning application of affordable housing, enterprise personnel management, website flow monitoring, heating system management, etc.
