On March 15, Sino-Dutch Fashion Dialogue was held at the Yan’an Road campus. Anneke Adema, the Dutch Consul General in Shanghai, along with representatives of fashion industry from both Netherlands and China, attended the dialogue.
Ms. Anneke Adema delivered the opening speech, in which she praised Shanghai International College of Fashion and Innovation of Donghua University (hereinafter referred to as SCF) for its activities and research in sustainable fashion design together with its Dutch partner over the last year, and expected that innovative cooperation platform for sustainable fashion design would be jointly built in the future. Anneke Adema and Li Jun, the Deputy Dean of SCF, signed the Memorandum of Understanding on behalf of both parties, hoping to enhance further cooperation in academic exchange, sustainable fashion and fashion innovation, etc.
On the dialogue, SCF employed Chen Wen, the Standing Director of Asia Fashion Federation & China Fashion Association as well as the Winner of the 19th China Fashion Design Top Prize “Jinding Award,” to be an Adjunct Professor of SCF. Chen Wen delivered a speech themed with “China’s Fashion Market,” expounding the history, current status and future development of the clothing and fashion industry as well as his understanding of mutual integration and support between eastern and western cultures.
The attendees also include delegates from leading European fashion brands such as C&A and Suitsupply as well as domestic fashion e-commerce platforms such as global.taobao.com and xiaohongshu.com, founders of domestic select shops and professionals in fashion marketing and fashion media. They discussed the marketing, communication and innovation trend of future fashion brands from the perspectives of costume design, shoes and jewelry innovation.
SCF, the youngest subordinate school under DHU, is a non-profit Chinese-foreign cooperatively-run educational institution centering on fashion creative industry chain and featuring the converging of originality, science & technology and business. The college aims to introduce first-class international education systems, bring together first-class international faculties, develop first-class fashion related disciplines, and cultivate first-class talents for fashion and creative industries. “Under the circumstances of fashionization of scientific and technological industry and technicalization of fashion industry, SCF is endeavoring to build the Fashion Scientific and Technological Center with the integration of modern information technology, new materials and innovative promotion of fashion product,” said Li Jun, “the college will continue to collaborate with the Dutch Consulate-General in Shanghai to hold scientific and technological innovation activities concerning fashion industry, so as to explore new innovation and development paths of the fusion of science and technology and fashion.”
