On March 18, President Jiang Changjun met with the new President of National Dong Hwa University (NDHU) Han-Chieh Chao and his delegation in the campus on Yan’an Road. Vice President Liu Chunhong also attended the meeting.
Jiang Changjun first extended a warm welcome to Han-Chieh Chao and his delegation. He introduced the general situation of Donghua University as well as the thoughts and vision of the university’s future development. Then the two sides discussed the prospects for cooperation in fields such as materials science and artistic creation, aiming to push forward the all-round cooperation in scientific research, faculty exchange and talents cultivation.
Found in 1994 and located in Hualien County, Taiwan, National Dong Hwa University is the first comprehensive public institution of higher learning in the east of the island. It has become the region’s academic and scientific research as well as industry and Internet development center. DHU and NDHU have reached a student exchange agreement, under which each side shall select four undergraduates to join the one-semester exchange program every year.
