CHEN Ge


Chen Ge, male, Han nationality, born in March 1967 in Chongqing, is a professor and PhD supervisor. He is currently a member of the standing committee of the CPC Committee and Vice President of Donghua University.


He graduated from Zhengzhou Textile Engineering College in 1988, majoring in textile machinery, and was offered a teaching position there upon graduation; he received his master’s degree and Ph.D. degree in Machinery Designing and Theories in 1998 from China Textiles University and in 2001 from Donghua University respectively, and has since been a teacher there; he was seconded to the Department of Science and Technology of the Chinese Ministry of Education from 2002 to 2003 and conducted post-doctoral research in Georgia Institute of Technology, the U.S. from 2005 to 2006; he worked in Xinjiang Teacher’s College from August 2017 to September 2020 to support Xinjiang development. Since joining Donghua University in 2001, he has served as Deputy Secretary and Secretary of the General Party Branch and Dean of the School of Mechanical Engineering successively, and later Vice President of Donghua University.


He has been selected into the Shanghai Excellent Technology Leader Program, and he is also Deputy Director of the National Committee for Standardization of Textile Machinery, Vice President of the China Textile Commerce Association, and member of the Expert Committee of the Intelligent Manufacturing Alliance of CAST Member Societies.


In 2020, he receiving a national merit as one of the ninth-batch outstanding cadre talents supporting Xinjiang development in central and state organs and central enterprises. He has won 1 first prize and 1 second prize for science and technology progress from China National Textile and Apparel Council, 1 first prize and 2 second prizes for teaching achievements from China National Textile and Apparel Council, 1 second prize for science and technology progress from China Machinery Industry Federation, 1 award for outstanding projects from the National Textile Center of the United States, and 2 awards for outstanding textbooks at provincial and ministerial levels. He served as the Editor-in-Chief of the Development Report on Key Areas of Intelligent Manufacturing in China 2018(Textile Section), and of textbooks including Basics of Textile Machinery Design, Introduction to Textile Machinery and Weaving Machinery, etc.
