CHEN Ge
Chen Ge, male, of Han nationality, born in March 1967 in Chongqing, is a professor and PhD supervisor. He is currently a member of the standing committee of the CPC Committee and Vice President of Donghua University.
He graduated from Zhengzhou Textile Engineering College in 1988, majoring in textile machinery, and was offered a teaching position there upon graduation. He received his master’s degree and Ph.D. degree in Machinery Designing and Theories in 1998 from China Textiles University and 2001 from Donghua University respectively, and has since been a teacher there. He was seconded to the Department of Science and Technology of the Chinese Ministry of Education from 2002 to 2003 and conducted post-doctoral research in Georgia Institute of Technology, the U.S. from 2005 to 2006, worked in Xinjiang Teacher’s College from August 2017 to September 2020 to support Xinjiang development. Since working at Donghua University in 2001, he has served as Deputy Secretary, Secretary, and Dean of the CPC General Branch of the School of Mechanical Engineering successively, and later Vice President of Donghua University.
Chen has been selected into the Shanghai Excellent Technology Leader Program, and he is also the deputy director of the National Committee for Standardization of Textile Machinery, Vice President of the China Textile Commerce Association, and member of the Expert Committee of the Association of Intelligent Manufacturing of the China Association for Science and Technology.
In 2020, Chen receiving a national merit as one of the ninth-batch outstanding cadre talents supporting Xinjiang development in central and state organs and central enterprises. He has won 1 first prize and 1 second prize of Science and Technology Progress of China National Textile Industry Council, 1 first prize and 2 second prizes of teaching achievements of China National Textile Industry Council, 1 second prize of science and Technology Progress of China Machinery Industry Council, 1 Outstanding Project Award of National Textile Center of the United States, and 2 Outstanding Textbook Awards of provincial and ministerial level. He served as the Editor-in-Chief of the Development Report on Key Areas of Intelligent Manufacturing in China 2018 (Textile Section), and of textbooks including Basics of Textile Machinery Design, Introduction to Textile Machinery and Weaving Machinery, etc.
