CHEN Ge


Chen Ge is a Professor and Doctoral Supervisor. Currently, he serves as Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Committee of Donghua University and Vice President of Donghua University.


He graduated from Donghua University with a Doctoral Degree in 2001, majoring in Mechanical Design and Theory, and joined the faculty after graduation. From 2002 to 2003, he was seconded to the Department of Science and Technology of the Ministry of Education. From 2005 to 2006, he carried out post-doctoral research at Georgia Institute of Technology, USA. From 2017 to 2020, he worked at Xinjiang Education Institute for counterpart support of Xinjiang. Since joining Donghua University in 2001, he has successively served as Secretary of the General Party Branch of the School of Mechanical Engineering and Dean of the School, and Vice President of Donghua University.


He has been selected into the Shanghai Outstanding Technology Leader Program and the Jiangsu Mass Entrepreneurship and Innovation Talent Program. He concurrently serves as Deputy Director of the National Technical Committee for Textile Machinery Standardization, Vice President of the China Textile Commerce Association, Member of the Expert Committee of the Intelligent Manufacturing Alliance under the China Association for Science and Technology, and Director of the Creative Economy Cooperation Special Committee of the Yangtze River Delta Urban Economic Coordination Council.


He led the development of the Digital Fully-Fashioned Warp Knitting Equipment and Intelligent Production Management System, which was listed among the Top 10 Scientific and Technological Advances in China's Intelligent Manufacturing (2020) by the China Association for Science and Technology and one of China's Top 10 Textile Science and Technology Awards (2021). His awards include one First Prize of Science and Technology Progress and two First Prizes of Teaching Achievement from the China National Textile and Apparel Council, one Second Prize of Science and Technology Progress from the China Machinery Industry Federation, one Outstanding Project Award from the National Textile Center of the United States, and two provincial and ministerial-level Outstanding Textbook Awards. He acted as the chief writer of the Guiding Opinions on the Development of the Textile Machinery Industry during the 14th Five-Year Plan, principal person in charge of the Textile Intelligent Equipment Special Topic under the key consulting project Research on the Development Strategy of Intelligent Manufacturing in China's Textile Industry sponsored by the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and Deputy Director of the Editorial Board for the national key book 2015 Report on China's Innovative Design Development. He is the chief editor of 2018 Report on Key Fields of Intelligent Manufacturing in China (Textile Volume), Principles and Design of Textile Machinery, Introduction to Textile Machinery, Fundamentals of Textile Machinery Design, and Weaving Machinery. He supervised undergraduate teams to win the Grand Prize in the 6th National 3D Digital Innovation Design Competition.
