After a few years break Donghua students finally had an opportunity to represent their university at Shanghai football tournament 2015. The team was very focused right from the off and showed fantastic team spirit in every single game they played.
Donghua has finished second in the group B and had to face the challenge of the best group A team Dianji university. In despite doubt, our university team showed great ambition and determination and won the game 6:2. The final game was played against Tongji University in their home field. Even though we missed the first goal in the first half, a great team work and mutual support let us tie the game in the second part. A penalty shoot-out was a big moment for our goalkeeper who solidified himself as the best goalkeeper by saving a crucial penalty and sealing the crown of the best Shanghai university football team 2015.
Special thanks go to all team players who game their utmost effort in every single game they played as well as coaches Oliver and Isaac who gathered all the best players and made them work as a team. Last but not least, a big thanks to the teacher Wu and other ICES office teachers who believed and supported our university team.
We all hope we will have an opportunity to participate in sports events and bring more trophies to our university in the future.
