Zhu Min met with President Timothy O’Shea and his delegation from the University of Edinburgh

 On September 30th , General Secretary of Party Zhu Min and Vice President Liu Chunhong met with President Sir Timothy O’Shea, O’Shea’s wife Professor Eileen Scanlon and President Assistant from The University of Edinburgh as well as Professor Natasha Gentz from Confucius Institute. President Assistant Qing Fengling, relevant officials from International Cooperation Office and Shanghai International College of Fashion and Innovation also attended the meeting.

Zhu Min extended a warm welcome to President O’Shea and his delegation. He hoped that more advanced educational resources of The University of Edinburgh would be introduced into DonghuaUniversity and both sides could make joint efforts to build a better fashion platform for Shanghai so as to make Shanghai International College of Fashion and Innovation(SCF) a first-class model fashion and innovation college in the world. President O’Shea gave his constant to it and pointed out that since Donghua University is the most important partner of The University of Edinburgh in the area of art, they would continuously increase their investment in faculties and other educational resources to make SCF a top-ranking fashion and innovation in the world and deepen their cooperation with Donghua University in other areas.

This was the second visit of President O’Shea since his presence in the opening ceremony of SCF last year. O’Shea and his delegation also visited ShanghaiTextile & FashionMuseum, InternationalEducationCenter as well as cloud platform, classrooms and laboratories of SCF and so on. During his visit, President O’Shea expressed his deep appreciation to our foreign students education, the development status of SCF and modern precious collections. In SCF, President O’Shea warmly exchanged his ideas with teachers and students and spoke highly of the discipline construction and the teaching methods which emphasized the combination of teaching mode and practice.
