On September 10th, Vice President Zhang Weihu and his delegation from Xi’an University of Science and Technology came to Donghua for a survey on internationalization, accompanied by Gu Bohong,Dean of the International Cultural Exchange School & Director of the International Cooperation Office, and relevant staff. Vice President Liu Chunhong attended the meeting.
LiuChunhong,on behalf of DHU,extended a warm welcome to the delegation and made an introduction to the internationalization of Donghua University in the 12th Five-Year Plan and the ongoing policy in the 13th Five-Year Plan. During the 12th Five-Year Plan, our university works to promote the development of internationalization by focusing on developing international joint programs, building Confucius Institutes, introducing talents and experts, encouraging overseas students to study in China and sending Chinese students to study abroad. Donghua University has established,with high standard,Shanghai International College of Fashion & Innovation and Confucius Institute at Moi University featuring textile science..In the 13th Five-Year Plan, our university, focusing on national strategy,aims to cultivate talents with international vision, familiar with international rules and internationally competitive. We will work to promote two-way exchange for students and teaching staff in the international environment and build campus atmosphere of “cGlobal View and Cultural Pluralism”. Normal exchange mechanism by staff, information, teaching and scientific achievements will be formed and internationally qualified disciplinary groups which integrate into the mainstream will be made up between Donghua and world-class universities.
Vice President Zhang Weihu introduced the historical reforms, disciplinary characteristics and international cooperation of Xi’an University of Science and Technology as well as the assignment of Chinese students studying abroad after itsparticipationin “1+2+1 Sino-American Talent Training Program”ajointly organized by CCIEE and other American educational institutions.
Staff from the International Exchange Center of Xi’an University of Science and Technology and other relevant staff from ICES and International Cooperation Office of Donghua were involved.
