On September 15, Vice President Chen Zhaoying met respectively with President Norbert·Kuhn and his delegation from University of Applied Sciences Trier and Vice President Taketosi Nayi Kou from Gunma University.
During the meeting with President Norbert·Kuhn and his delegation, Vice President Chen introduced our cooperation with Germany, especially the cooperation with Reutlingen University of Applied Sciences in the undergraduate major light chemistry engineering. He pointed out that high fit of this major in both sides makes our cooperation smoother. Vice President Kuhn and his delegation also visited SCF and met with relevant representatives. They hope for further cooperation in relevant advantage disciplines. Dean of Design Institute Mathias·Synvicfrom Reutlingen University of Applied Sciences, professors from department of digital media and game as well as from department of control and automation(5 people) also came together with them. Relevant staff from International Cooperation Office, International College of Fashion and Innovation, College of International Cultural Exchange and Information College also attended the meeting.
Vice President Chen extended a warm welcome to Vice President Taketosi Nayi Kou and his delegation and introduced the general development situation, characteristic specialty and foreign exchange and cooperation situation of Donghua University, especially our cooperation with Japanese universities and study of Japanese international students to them. Vice President Taketosi expressed his appreciation on the specialty of education internationalization of Donghua University and his hope for further exchange and cooperation.
University of Applied Sciences Trier has three campuses. More than 8000 undergraduate and graduate students from over 90 countries study there, majoring in design, engineering technology, information, economic and legal. Material flow management—an advanced major in this university is an important tool for circular economy construction which is vigorously emphasized and promoted by the Chinese government, such as renewable energy, waste utilization, energy saving, water saving, reclaimed water utilization, system optimization of regional material flow and so on. Trier is close to Belgium, Luxembourg and France and is where the great thinker Karl Marx was born. Gunma University, founded in 1873, is the National University of Japan. Currently, there are 3 campuses and about 6500 students. In addition to departments and colleges, there are also university library, institute for health and regulatory, affiliated hospital of medical department, regional research center, machine analysis center, gene laboratory facilities, integrated information processing centers and other institutions.
