As the opening of the 2015 autumn semester, Donghua University has welcomed around 800 international students from all over the world, including degree students, language students, scholars and exchange students to study here.
To welcome the arrival of new students, international cultural exchange school and the relevant functional departments have made sufficient preparations in all aspects beforehand in order to ensure the enrollment procedures of new international students running smoothly. To be more considerate, the school has arranged airport pick-up service, leading new students to the international student apartments in two campuses, and has provided one-stop services on student cards collection, fee payment, visa consultation and application, etc. Logistical departments have also renewed the facilities in international student apartment during summer vacation, which has significantly enhanced students’ living environment. They’ve also examined the furniture and appliances, completed the cleaning and maintenance of these facilities and other vast amount of preparation work for the new semester.
Newly-enrolled international students hold a high prospect towards their future lives in Donghua University. In the two opening ceremonies for language students held on Sept.4, the dean of International Cultural Exchange School, Professor GU Bohong encouraged students to learn Chinese well and wished that they would spend a fruitful, safe, comfortable, cheerful and unforgettable life in Donghua University. In the ceremony, new students also learned about the development of Donghua University and international student education, and information on Chinese study and life in China. At the end of the ceremony, student representatives from International Student Association not only introduced various student clubs and activities in the coming semester, but also brought a refreshing “Flash Mob” to welcome them becoming a part of Donghua University.
In the coming several weeks, International Cultural Exchange School will hold Freshmen Welcome Party, one-day excursion in Shanghai, ITALK meet & greet with Chinese students and other activities to help new international students better integrate into their campus life.
