DHU team was awarded the Best Innovation Prize in Wild Reversible Heat Connector International Challenge 2014. The team was composed of four undergraduates: Lu Siliang, Shen Lili and Li Tangyu from School of Environmental Science and Technology, and Liao Guanghui fromSchool of Mechanical Engineering. The challenge was held from October 31 to November 1 in Mizzou, University of Missouri-Columbia.

Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) affiliated to United States Department of Defense funded this competition about innovation design of a heat transfer connector used for repeatable dismantlement and installment and for heat dissipation of high power phased array radars. Tremendous heat is generated when electronic devices including high power phased array radars are utilized and then disperses by liquid-cooled plates connected with electronic equipment. Under the supervision of Prof. Su Yaxin and Zhang Rui, our team designed an innovative connector filled with metal powder and characterized by little thermal resistance and high strain and successfully completed tasks of model making and relevant tests.
