YU Jianyong
Yu Jianyong is an academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, professor, and doctoral supervisor. He has successively served as Dean of College of Textiles of Donghua University, Executive Vice Dean of Modern Textile Research Institute of Donghua University, Executive Vice Dean of Research Institute of Donghua University, Director of Scientific Research Office of Donghua University, Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President of Donghua University, Director of Innovation Center for Textile Science and Technology of Donghua University, and President and Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Donghua University.
Academic Achievements: He has long committed himself to the scientific research and teaching in textile materials. He has carried out research on basic theories, key technologies and applications in the development of natural fiber resources, production and applications of chemical fibers, textile composite materials and textile functional materials, etc. and has achieved a series of innovative achievements. He has won 2 second prizes of State Technological Invention Award and 2 second prizes of State Scientific and Technological Progress Award; co-authored 5 books; published more than 400 papers; received more than 100 national invention patents; and instructed more than 100 graduate students.
Honors and Awards: He has received “the First China Textile Academic Award” from China Textile Engineering Society in 2011; and he has been honored as the outstanding contributor to the textile industry in the past 40 years since China’s reform and opening-up.
Major Academic and Professional Affiliations: Deputy Director of the National Expert Advisory Committee on New Materials Industry Development, Chairman of the Chinese Society for Composite Materials, and Chairman of Shanghai Society for Composite Materials.
