Chinese Language Programs  

International Cultural Exchange School of Donghua University offers diverse non-degree language programs to meet various time schedules and learning demands. Over 2500 international students study at DHU each year not only improved the language proficiency but got to know the Chinese culture and society as well.   


General Chinese (A/B)

Designed for those who come from abroad or are in China currently to improve all-around ablities in listening, speaking, reading and writing, get to know China, and enhance their competitiveness.  

Spring: Mar.-Jul.         Autumn: Sep.-Jan.   (18 weeks)

Mon.-Fri. 8:30-12:10

Intensive Chinese

1) Lay a solid foundation in basic knowledge of Chinese and gain intermediate comprehensive abilities.

2) Reach the language entry requirements of Chinese-instructed degree programs at Donghua University.

Sep.- Jun. (around 10 months)

Mon.-Fri. 8:30-12:10 & 13:30-15:10

Practical Chinese (C/D/E/F)

Designed for those who live or work in Shanghai and expect to master conversations in daliy life or business occasions.

Spring: Mar.-Jun.      Autumn: Sep.-Dec.    (15 weeks)

Class time rangs from two times per week, three times per weeks (daytime or evening) and weekend.

Vacation Chinese  

This short-term course is designed for those who expect to acquire Chinese language skills and go depth into the Chinese culture during winter or summer vacation. You can also make new friends from all over the world.

Winter: Jan.    Summer: Jul. or Aug.       (3 or 4 weeks)

Mon.-Fri. 9:00-12:30

Bachelor's Program in Chinese Language  

Do you want to learn Chinese language and get a bachelor degree? Join this program.

There are both spring and autumn intake each year, and students start from a higher level are possible to graduate in less than 4 years.
