National Advanced Printing and Dyeing Technology Innovation Center Approved for Establishment

Date:2020-06-12

Recently, the National Advanced Printing and Dyeing Technology Innovation Center was approved for establishment by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. Its establishment would be led and guided by DHU and Shandong Companion Group. Yu Jianyong, president of DHU and academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, was appointed Chief Scientist of the Center. Mao Zhiping, professor of College of Chemistry, Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology, was appointed director of the Center. It is the only national manufacturing innovation center in the field of printing and dyeing.

Advanced printing and dyeing technology is one of the key areas in the construction of national manufacturing innovation center. As an important part of the textile industry chain, printing and dyeing is crucial for improving the added value of textile products and realizing the energy saving and emission reduction of the industry, which is related to the sustainable development of the textile industry and the in-depth promotion of pollution prevention and control. National Advanced Printing and Dyeing Technology Innovation Center will focus on the design and development of high-quality printing and dyeing products, new printing and dyeing technology for energy saving and emission reduction, digital and intelligent printing and dyeing equipment and manufacturing system, to build a public R&D platform, pilot test and technology incubation base, and create a new type of innovation carrier, improving the technical level and product competitiveness of the textile printing and dyeing industry, and supporting the green innovation and development of printing and dyeing industry.

National Advanced Printing and Dyeing Technology Innovation Center will be established with the help of Shandong Zhongkang National Advanced Printing and Dyeing Technology Research Institute Co., Ltd. The construction units include Shandong Companion Group, Donghua University, Qingdao University, Beijing National Innovation Institute of Lightweight Ltd., Qingdao Jifa Group, Foshan Texpro Precision Machinery Co., Ltd., Shanghai Anoky Group, Guangdong Dymatic Fine Chemical Co., Ltd., Jiangsu Red Flag Printing and Dyeing Machinery Co., Ltd., Tai'an Taishan Investment Co., Ltd., Tai’an Minyi Energy Saving Equipment Co., Ltd., Transfar Zhilian Co., Ltd., Hangzhou Atexco Digital Technology Co., Ltd., Hangzhou Kaiyuan Computer Technology Co., Ltd., and Luthai Textile Co., Ltd.. At the same time, through China Advanced Printing and Dyeing Technology Innovation Alliance, the Innovation Center gathers the upstream and downstream advantageous innovation resources in the fields of scientific research, production and application of the industrial chain, and cooperates to carry out the research and development of common technology and industrial application demonstration. The Center recruits Yu Jianyong, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and president of DHU as the Chief Scientist, and forms 10 innovation teams with Chen Chun, Shan Zhongde, both academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Peng Xiaojun, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and other senior R&D personnel as participants, focusing on tackling key problems on the design and development of high-quality printing and dyeing products, and printing and dyeing new technology for energy saving and emission reduction.

Yu Jianyong said that in the future, the Center will strive to become a world-class research center of key standard technologies in the printing and dyeing industry, aiming at the international advanced standards, identifying and tackling the difficult points in the development of China’s printing and dyeing industry, promoting the transformation of scientific and technological achievements, and serving the transformation and development of China’s printing and dyeing industry. The Center should explore its own system and mechanism of operation, promote the concept of openness and sharing, and achieve self-refueling and sustainable development.

According to Mao Zhiping, in terms of industrial scale, China’s textile industry accounts for more than 60% of the world’s total, but our industrial value chain is still at the low-end level. High-grade dyes, chemicals and auxiliaries are somehow dependent on imports. Key technologies and equipment still lag behind other countries. A big gap still exists between the overall scheme, core software, and data system of green and intelligent manufacturing and that of foreign countries. And the standards are made by other countries. Therefore, the establishment of the Center is imperative.

In the next stage, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology will strengthen the guidance on the construction of National Advanced Printing and Dyeing Technology Innovation Center, promote the Center to adhere to the concept of openness, further absorb industrial innovation resources in the process of enterprise operation, and create an open and shared industrial innovation platform, in order to provide strong support for the high-quality development of the industry.
