A few days ago, the Final of the 2020 National Youth Campus Football-Women’s University Football League and the Chinese Football Association Women’s Second League ended at the Nanjing Jiangning Football Base. DHU Women’s Football Team (Shanghai Qiusheng Donghua University Women’s Football Team) reached the final by winning 5 games and then defeated Qingdao Huanghai SDUT Women’s Football Team by a score of 8:0, winning the Championship in the 2020 Women’s Second League.

On December 12, the team players returned in triumph and received a warm welcome from Vice President Shu Huisheng and leaders of the Sports Department, Graduate Faculty, School of Business and Management, and Humanities School in Yan’an Road Campus. Shu Huisheng congratulated the DHU Women’s Football Team for winning the national title again and successfully returning to the Women’s First League, bringing back honors for the University and the only championship trophy in Shanghai football circle. He hoped that the players could continue to work together to achieve good results in the Women’s First League of next season.

Since the start of the League, under the guidance of the head coach Qiu Jingwei, the team players achieved the best competitive state and had a strong desire to win. In the group stage, the team won 3 games without conceding a goal and got into the last eight. Then they successfully entered into the semi-finals by beating the team of Guizhou Normal University with score of 7 to 0. The opponent in the semi-finals was Beijing Normal University Women’s Football Team, the winner of 17th National Undergraduate Women’s Football Match, and also a traditional strong team of the undergraduate women’s football. Both teams demonstrated extremely high competitive level and tenacious qualities in this wonderful game. After the first 90 minutes finished 1-1, DHU Women’s Football Team defeated the opponent in a penalty shootout and went through to the final. In the final on the 11th, after goals from You Dandan, Wang Tong, Yan Yingying and Liang Wei, DHU Women’s Football Team defeated Qingdao Huanghai SDUT Women’s Football Team by score of 8 to 0, winning the Championship in the 2020 Women’s Second League. In this league, DHU Women’s Football Team won all the 6 games, scoring 30 goals and conceding just 1 goal.
It is learned that, this league was co-hosted by the Leading Group Office of National Youth Campus Football and the Chinese Football Association, undertaken by the Nanjing Jiangning Football Base and the Yancheng Dafeng Football Base, attracting 16 women’s football teams from across the country, including professional women’s football teams such as Shandong Luneng, Qingdao Huanghai, Shenzhen Kaisa, Guangzhou R&F, and campus women’s football teams such as Beijing Normal University Team, Northeast Normal University Team, and Inner Mongolia University Team.
