On October 16, Professor Bailian Li, senior vice provost of North Carolina State University (NCSU), Professor David Hinks, dean of Wilson College of Textiles and other delegation members visited our University. Vice president Gao Qiu met with the guests, accompanied by relevant principals of International Cooperation Office, Graduate Department, College of Textiles and College of Material Science and Engineering.

Gao Qiu, on behalf of our university, welcomed the delegation of North Carolina State University and reviewed the long history of the cooperation between the two universities. He hoped that the two universities could further expand the cooperation in relevant preponderant disciplines on the basis of existing projects, and promote academic exchanges and discipline construction between the two universities.
Bailian Li said that North Carolina State University and Donghua University were both world's leading textile universities and had a long history of cooperation. He hoped that through this visit, the two universities could further expand cooperation, carry out more academic exchanges of various levels and forms, and promote the development of the two universities.
At the end of the meeting, the delegation went to the College of Textiles to discuss in detail the plan for new projects after Chinese-foreign cooperative education projects of “Textile Science and Engineering” discipline being brought into the record system. Then the delegation went to the College of Material Science and Engineering to hold a discussion and visited the National Key Laboratory of Fiber Material Modification, hoping to carry out in-depth cooperation in fiber research. In the afternoon, the delegation went to the Yan’an Road Campus to visit the College of Fashion and Design and the Design Park, and had in-depth communication with relevant teachers and students.
North Carolina State University, founded in 1887, is one of the world’s top public research universities. It enjoys a high reputation in the world and has a strong faculty — 19 professors have been elected as academicians of the American Academy of Sciences or the American Academy of Engineering. According to US News’s latest 2019 comprehensive ranking of American undergraduate universities, North Carolina State University ranks No. 80, which is classified as the first-class national university. Its College of Engineering is particularly famous, and its textile engineering ranks No. 1 in the United States. It is a world-class textile university, and also the cooperative university for the construction of “Double World Class” Project of our university.
