On November 18, an education delegation comprising principals from nearly 30 secondary schools and officials from local education authorities in six Belt and Road countries—Russia, Indonesia, Thailand, Mongolia, Laos, and Cambodia—visited Donghua University (DHU) for exchange activities at its Yan’an Road Campus.
During the visit, delegation members were introduced to DHU’s institutional profile, disciplinary strengths, academic offerings for international students, admissions policies, and student support services. They also learned about the English-taught undergraduate programs at the Shanghai Institute of Fashion and Innovation, and toured the Shanghai Textile and Costume Museum as well as campus teaching, learning, and living facilities.

The delegation spoke highly of DHU’s teaching environment and internationalized educational approach, praising the university’s integration of cutting-edge industry resources into its curriculum to cultivate students’ innovation capacity and global vision. Members of the delegation noted that the visit left a strong impression and expressed their intention to recommend outstanding students from their respective countries to pursue degree studies or short-term programs at DHU, enabling them to gain first-hand experience of the university, Shanghai, and China.
In recent years, DHU’s International Education Center has leveraged Shanghai’s role as a global city and the university’s disciplinary strengths to support China’s education opening-up strategy and advance institutional internationalization. As of fall 2025, nearly 1,000 international students from 91 countries are enrolled at DHU, further strengthening the university’s “Study at DHU” international education brand.
