From July 8-9, 2024, the 5th International Conference on Biomedical Polymers and Polymeric Biomaterials (ICBPPB 2024) was held at the Songjiang campus of Donghua University(DHU). The conference was jointly organized by DHU and the University of Memphis, USA,with co-hosting support from DHU College of Biological Science and Medical Engineering, Shanghai Nanobiomedical and Regenerative Engineering Technology Research Center, and the State Key Laboratory of Fiber Modified Materials. The theme of ICBPPB 2024was "Development and Reflection on Biomedical Polymer Biomaterials." It has attracted over 200 domestic and international experts from 13 countries and regions, including the US, UK, Korea, Singapore, Australia, Japan, Poland, Canada, and Portugal, to discuss the latest research progress in biomedical polymers and polymeric biomaterials.

ICBPPB 2024 provided a platform for scientists and experts to share advancements in the field of polymeric biomaterials. It featured 15 frontier topics, including hydrogels, drug delivery systems, biopolymer synthesis, tissue engineering, scaffold design and manufacturing, preclinical and clinical trials of biomaterials, commercialization of biomaterials, advanced biomaterials, 3D printing of biomaterials, and polymer medical devices. The conference included 4 plenary speeches, 31 invited presentations, 67 oral presentations, and 52 poster presentations.
