Recently, the 8th Oriental Design Forum and 2022 International Conference Metaverse and Innovative Design, jointly sponsored by the International Society for Design Science, Shanghai Education Committee of Master of Fine Art, and Shanghai Jiao Tong University, was held online. More than 200 paper representatives, specially invited guests and media reporters nationwide and from Germany, the United States, Japan, Singapore, Brazil, Malaysia, Myanmar, Cambodia and other countries attended the event.

At the opening ceremony, winners of the International Design Education Achievement Award in 2022, selected three years after the previous session, were grandly announced by professor Feng Xinqun, Vice Chairman of the International Society for Design Science, Deputy Director and Secretary-General of the Shanghai Education Committee of Master of Fine Art and professor of Donghua. Three outstanding art and design educators were awarded this honor, including: professor of Southeast University Zhang Daoyi, the famous arts and crafts historian, folk artist, educator, pattern scholar, the main founder of China's contemporary art discipline, and the convener of the Review Group for the Art Discipline of the Academic Degrees Committee under the State Council; professor Wang Mingzhi, senior professor of liberal arts at Tsinghua University, former Dean of Central Academy of Art and Design, and former Vice President of Tsinghua University and Dean of the Academy of Arts & Design; professor of Donghua University Wu Jingfang, former Deputy Dean of the Fashion Institute of China Textile University, President of the Shanghai Branch of the Asian Basic Modeling Association, and Honorary Director of China Silk-screen Art Creation Research Center. Afterwards, Professor Zhang Daoyi, Professor Wang Mingzhi, and Professor Wu Jingfang delivered their award-winning speeches through video, sharing their valuable experience in design education for decades.
