"Stay in Songjiang and Pioneer with Science and Technology Innovation" Non-governmental Diplomacy Event Held Successfully

On the afternoon of May 23, the non-governmental diplomacy event themed “Stay in Songjiang and Pioneer with Science and Technology Innovation”, hosted by Shanghai Overseas Returned Scholars Association (SORSA) and jointly undertaken by SORSA Donghua University Branch and SORSA Songjiang Branch and the Joint Conference Office of the G60 S&T Innovation Valley of Yangtze River Delta, and co-organized by the SORSA East China University of Political Science and Law Branch, was successfully held online. The General Consuls of Pakistan and Uzbekistan in Shanghai, the relevant guests and representatives of SORSA, the United Front Work Department of the Songjiang District Party Committee and the G60 S&T Innovation Valley of Yangtze River Delta, the head of the United Front Work Department of the Party Committee of Donghua University, the heads of and backbones of various parties and groups, the young teachers returning from abroad, and the representatives of international students gathered at the cloud end.

This year marks the 71st anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relation between China and Pakistan and the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relation between China and Uzbekistan. Both Pakistan and Uzbekistan are ancient countries along the Silk Road and have long been friendly neighbors and key cooperative partners of China. Since entering the new era, pragmatic cooperation has been taken further continuously. The General Consul of Pakistan in Shanghai and the General Consul of Uzbekistan in Shanghai delivered speeches respectively, expressing their expectations of creating a brighter future together with China for the three countries with the guidance of the spirit of the ancient Silk Road.

At the meeting, Chen Ge, President of SORSA Donghua University Branch, Zhu Limin, President of SORSA Songjiang Branch and Chairman of the Overseas Chinese Federation of Donghua University, and Guo Shuqing, Deputy Director of the Joint Conference Office of the G60 S&T Innovation Valley of Yangtze River Delta signed a strategic cooperation agreement on behalf of the three parties. The signing of this strategic cooperation agreement this time will help jointly build a platform for the transformation of industry-university-research achievements and for innovation and entrepreneurship, and will construct a multi-level and multi-channel interconnection and cooperation network with countries along the “Belt and Road” route. In the future, it will further contribute to strengthening the linkage between Songjiang District and Donghua University, giving full play to the role of the local and university united front communities, seizing the major strategic opportunity of the G60 S&T Innovation Valley of Yangtze River Delta being upgraded to a national strategy, and exploring new ideas and creating new models to refuel the building of the G60 S&T Innovation Valley of Yangtze River Delta.
