  • Chinese Classes: Say goodbye to the worries of daily communication! Our core course is designed for practical use, helping you confidently handle a wide range of real-life situations—from ordering meals and shopping to making new friends. Classes are scientifically divided into levels and groups based on students’ actual Chinese proficiency, offering up to 9 levels from beginner to advanced. Each class opens with a minimum of 8 students. Through a simple, user-friendly online placement test, we’ll help you find the class that best matches your ability, ensuring you progress efficiently alongside peers of similar levels.

  • Cultural Lectures/Activities: Culture goes beyond textbooks! We’ve prepared a variety of engaging interactive lectures and workshops that let you experience firsthand the charm of Chinese culture. Discover the wisdom behind Chinese characters, appreciate the beauty of the language, try writing Chinese calligraphy with a brush, or paint a traditional round fan, paper umbrella, or opera mask—perfect as a gift for friends. You can also learn a set of health exercises rooted in traditional Chinese medicine and wellness philosophy, so you can share the practice with your loved ones back home. Through fun, hands-on activities, you’ll personally feel how traditional culture nourishes both body and mind, enriching everyday life.

  • Language Practice: Learning Chinese is meant to be used in the real world! Under the guidance of instructors, you’ll step out of the classroom and into Shanghai’s authentic neighborhoods, shopping districts, and cultural landmarks to complete exciting “mission challenges.” Find unique local products in a supermarket, or strike up a brief conversation with a stranger in a café—every time you speak, you’ll be taking a real step forward in your language journey.

    IV. Others

  • Textbooks: Self-compiled teaching materials for short-term program with online supplementary learning materials.

  • Visa: DHU will issue relevant documents for applying for a study visa (X2 visa) based on the actual situation of admitted students' entry into China or their existing visas. Please note that the Visa Application Form for Foreigners Coming to China has been digitized. For international students with a study duration of less than 180 days, the form is DQ. Please log in to the Study in China (https://www.studyinchina.edu.cn), go to Visa Application on the homepage to view and download the DQ form according to the guidance.

  • Accommodation: Admitted students may choose to live off-campus or apply for on-campus dormitories. If you plan to apply for on-campus accommodation, you must complete the application independently in accordance with the university's email guidelines. The university will make overall arrangements based on factors such as dormitory types, room availability, and application status. Students who obtain on-campus accommodation eligibility must complete the check-in procedures within the period specified by the university; those who do not obtain the eligibility should contact and arrange off-campus accommodation on their own. During this process, please pay attention to the university's latest official information and maintain close email communication. ---If you do not complete the test, you will neither be able to participate in the semester registration nor attend classes.

---After the start of classes, if the difficulty of the courses is significantly inconsistent with your proficiency level, you can apply for a class level change within the first week of the start of classes and during the specified time.
