From January 1st-to 2nd, the 5th China College Student Fashion Model Competition was held in Shenzhen. 75 models from 61 colleges and universities in China were selected into the final. After fierce competition, Li Lingrong, a 2018 student majoring in fashion performance from the Acting Department of the College of Fashion and Design of DHU, won the gold medal. On the day of the final, nearly 300,000 online and offline audiences witnessed the birth of a future supermodel star.

It is understood that this Competition is co-hosted by the Shenzhen Fashion Designers Association, the organizing committee of China (Shenzhen) International Fashion Festival, the China Textile and Clothing Education Association, and the National Advisory Committee on Teaching Textiles Majors in Higher Education under the Ministry of Education. It includes comprehensive quality evaluation, exhibiting fashion performance skills and other links, aiming to seek and cultivate compound talents of fashion performance in new era, promote the cultivation of socialist spiritual civilization and aesthetic education in colleges and universities, and provide talents for increasing the confidence in fashion culture and the great rejuvenation of the Oriental fashion. As the organizer of the 4th Teaching and Research Level Competition for Teachers Majoring in Fashion Performance, the College of Fashion and Design of DHU ensured the smooth running of the competition.

Before the competition, the meeting of the Sub-Committee on Teaching Fashion Show of the National Advisory Committee on Teaching Textiles Majors in Higher Education under the Ministry of Education & the meeting of the Committee of Fashion Show Major in National Colleges and Universities were held, attended by 69 teachers from more than 50 specialized institutions of fashion show.
