2020 International Creative Mask Crossover Art Exhibition Held in Shanghai

From September 12 to October 6, the 2020  International Creative Mask Crossover Art Exhibition, co-hosted by the  Collaborative Innovation Center for Shanghai Fashion Design and Value  Creation of DHU, the Chinese and Western Cultural Creative Industry Promoting Association (Macao), and the Fengxian Museum.

Its main element was the “mask” and the collection of massive masks and art crossover became the most attractive part of the exhibition. Exhibition contents included award-winning works in the Creative Mask Design Competition with the theme of “Shanghai Style”, a review of the ten years of creative masks, art works of contemporary mask installation, creative mask fashion show, and special speeches on mask culture and art.

Creators combined mask elements with installation art, material craftsmanship, and art forms, and integrated the openness, diversity, and the spirit of cross-border innovation of contemporary art into their works, fully embodying the creative concept of  “beautiful city, healthy life, ecological environment, and technological innovation”. More than 3,000 masks were exhibited, and dozens of well-known artists and designers in the industry were invited to create works and give lectures for the exhibition. Thousands of professional institutions participated in the 2020 Creative Mask Design Competition, and a total of 10 gold awards, 20 silver awards, and more than 100 other kinds of awards were granted.

The Collaborative Innovation Center for Shanghai Fashion Design and Value Creation and Fashion & Art Design School of DHU, being the organizers and major participants of this exhibition, have cooperated with the Chinese and Western Cultural Creative Industry Promoting Association (Macao) for many times in recent years. All parties jointly organize competitions and academic exchange activities, which has actively promoted cultural exchanges between artists, designers and young students from Shanghai and Macao.
