Renowned International Fashion Designer Stella McCartney Engages in Sustainable Innovation Conversation with DHU Students

On the afternoon of October 17th, “The Future of Fashion: Innovation and Sustainability Conversation with Stella McCartney” was held at Donghua University’s campus on Yan’an Road. Vice President Li Wei, internationally acclaimed fashion designer Stella McCartney, Director of the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) in Shanghai Ren Wenwei, and Deputy Director-Sustainability at Hang Lung Properties John Haffner attended the conversation. Experts, scholars, and representatives from the sustainable fashion industry, as well as officials from relevant authorities and colleges of our university, also participated in the event. The conversation was moderated by Professor Li Jun, the Dean of Shanghai International College of Fashion and Innovation, Donghua University.

In her speech, Vice President Li Wei expressed her appreciation for Stella McCartney’s efforts in promoting sustainable education and advocating for sustainable principles. She also expressed gratitude for her generous donation to the university. During the event, Li Wei presented Stella McCartney with an appointment letter as an advisor or honorary professor at Donghua University. During the conversation session, Stella McCartney shared her innovative experience and design concepts in the field of sustainable fashion. Ren Wenwei and John Haffner also emphasized the importance of innovation in addressing the opportunities and challenges of sustainable development.

Student representatives at the event participated in dialogues with guests on topics such as “Regeneration and Innovation of Fashion Products”, “Sustainable Development in the Retail Industry”, and “Chinese Traditional Culture and International Brands from a Sustainable Perspective”.
