On September 25, the opening ceremony of the Belt and Road International Textile Quality Course (hereinafter referred to as “International Quality Course”) was held online simultaneously at Songjiang Campus of DHU and Namangan Institute of Engineering and Technology, Namangan, Uzbekistan. The Chinese side was attended by Li Wei, Vice President of DHU, Zhao Mingwei, Director of the International Cooperation Office, Li Jiayao, Secretary of the Party Committee of the College of Textiles, Wang Xianfeng, Vice Dean of the College of Textiles, and Professor Yu Chongwen. The Uzbek side was attended by Jamoliddin Ergashev, Zokirjon Erkinov, Vice Presidents of Namangan Institute of Engineering and Technology, and Jamshid Yuldashev, Dean ofthe College of Textiles. The ceremony was hosted by Zhao Mingwei.
In his opening remarks, Li Wei mentioned that the establishment of the International Quality Course will help promote the innovation of DHU’s international education model, expand the international influence of the university’s advantageous disciplines, and cultivate more high-quality textile professionals for the world textile industry.
Leaders and relevant persons in chargefrom the Uzbek side encouraged the students of Namangan Institute of Engineering and Technology to seize the opportunity and achieve their goals in the following courses. They also looked forward to having more intensive cooperation in the academic and scientific research fields with DHU in the future based on past fruitful achievements.
Wang Xianfeng said that the International Quality Course consists of three parts: yarn science, textile materials science, and textile finishing science. These three parts constitute the key components of textile science and play an important role in the development and innovation of the textile industry.
In the certificate awarding session, Li Jiayao awarded Yu Chongwen with a certificate of “Distinguished Teacher of Belt and Road International Textile Quality Course”. After the ceremony, Yu Chongwen gave a lecture on “Yarn Science”, which is part of the International Quality Course, to teachers and students of Namangan Institute of Engineering and Technology.
