On April 22, the 18th “Chinese Young Women in Science Award” ceremony was held in Beijing, andonly 20 scientists were awarded. Professor Qin Xiaohong, from the College of Textiles of DHU, is the only female scientist lucubrated in textile research among the award winners.
The “China Young Female Scientists Awards” aims to honor young women scientists who have made significant and innovative achievements in basic science and life science. This award was established in 2004 by the All-China Women’s Federation, the China Association for Science and Technology, the National Commission of the People’s Republic of China for UNESCO and L’Oréal China. 184 women scientists have been awarded so far.
Professor Qin Xiaohong is the Dean of the College of Textiles of DHU. She has long been engaged in research on the industrialization of the theory and technology of media-induced forming of multi-dimensional micro-nano-fiber aggregates, has broken through the core technology of macro-preparation of high-quality micro-nano-fibers, and has created a technical system for the industrialization of high-quality electrostatic spun non-woven materials from spinning, web forming to shape setting.
