Sun Ruizhe, Honorary Chairman of the Conference, Co-Chairman of the International Textile Manufacturers Federation (ITMF) and President of the China National Textile and Apparel Council (CNTAC), noted that DHU promoted cutting-edge technological innovation in the industry and he expected DHU to create new achievements in global textile innovation. In the future, international textile science and technology innovation can be realized in two ways. On the one hand, to focus on innovation in textile equipment, materials, processes and products, changing the form of the industry with cutting-edge technology and nurturing the future of the sector and industries of the future. On the other hand, to expand the textile-related bio-economy, the health sector, the digital creative industry and the maritime economy, extend the boundaries of the industry with cutting-edge technology and promote integrated innovation and innovation integration.

(Fu Guangwei Delivering a Speech)

Fu Guangwei, Vice-Chairman of the Conference, Councilor of China Textile Engineering Society (CTES) and Federation of Asian Professional Textile Associations (FAPTA), stated that with the development of information technology and digital technology, the textile and garments of the future would be fully printed flexibly. China's textile industry would face a vast transformation in cutting-edge science and technology.

(Yu Jiangyong Delivering a Speech)

Yu Jianyong, Chairman of the Conference, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE) and President of DHU, pointed out in his speech that DHU followed the frontiers of international academic and industrial development in textiles based on the disciplines of textiles, materials and design, and continuously expanded its discipline development fields. Therefore, many scientific research achievements were widely used in aerospace, aviation, architectural engineering and environmental protection.

Academicians and experts from various units discussed cutting-edge textile technology at the Conference. Yu Jiangyong presented how nanofibres could be widely used in areas related to people's life, such as heat insulation, intelligent textiles, filtration and separation. "The textile industry has a complete chain and huge market opportunities!" said Prof. Cui Yi from Stanford University, who was also a National Academy of Sciences member. The new polyolefin fabric was rich in material technology and was expected to drive the global economy towards "carbon neutrality".

DHU hosted the World Textile University Alliance Annual Meeting during the same period. The Alliance is an unincorporated academic association founded in 2018 by DHU in collaboration with universities worldwide with textile characteristics, including 35 member universities from 18 countries. The theme was "Sharing Digital Opportunities, Creating a Green Future". Representatives from universities in China, Pakistan, Serbia, Iran and Malaysia, experts and scholars from the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and other institutions and industry representatives shared their views on how to cope with the new opportunities and challenges brought about by the changing world situation in the global context. Besides, they exchanged new strategies for developing textile technology among the "Belt and Road" countries.
