Recently, the 2022 International Conference on Frontier Materials, organized by the International Union of Materials Research Societies (IUMRS), was held online. Three awards were given at the conference: the IUMRS Frontier Materials Scientist Award, the IUMRS Frontier Materials Young Scientist Award and the IUMRS Frontier Materials Graduate Student Award. From the College of Materials Science and Engineering, Donghua University, Researcher Luo Wei received the IUMRS Frontier Materials Young Scientist Award and Zhang Junyan, a Postdoctoral Fellow, received the IUMRS Frontier Materials Graduate Student Award.
IUMRS is an international academic organization jointly initiated by the national material societies of the United States (MRS), China (C-MRS), Europe (E-MRS), and Japan (MRS-J) in 1991, aiming to promote interdisciplinary materials science research and education around the world. The headquarter of IUMRS is in Singapore, with 14 national society members. To reward young scientists who have made significant contributions and impacts on basic and applied materials research worldwide and to encourage outstanding graduate students in the field of frontier materials research, IUMRS annually selects four senior scientists, six young scientists, and 12 graduate students in the field of frontier materials worldwide and respectively awards them with “IUMRS Frontier Materials Scientists Award”, “IUMRS Frontier Materials Young Scientist Award”, and “IUMRS Frontier Materials Graduate Student Award”.
